Creative Writing Techniques That Get Your Students Writing

Welcome to Creative Writing Solutions. If you are a writer, there is nothing more gratifying than producing your own original work of fiction. If you teach creative writing, that gratification extends to reading what your students produce.

Helping students to overcome writing anxiety is our passion, which is one of the reasons this website exists. We want to provide you with a place where you can go to not only improve your own writing skills but also gain the tools you need for teaching creative writing in your inclusive classroom, in your special education classroom, or in your home schooling program. All students can learn to love writing, regardless of their unique learning styles. We embrace divergence, creative education and the concept of inclusion!

While we believe there is no greater joy than writing your own original stories, we've been teaching long enough to realize that many children don't share this enthusiasm. Boys especially seem to dislike writing.

We have been teaching creative writing for over 20 years to some of the most reluctant students. These are kids who absolutely hated to write, even refused to pick up a pencil, some to the point of becoming violent.

To motivate students who do not enjoy writing, and to help teachers who want a complete lesson plan devoted to creative writing, we've developed a creative writing curriculum and the Legends of Druidawn writing game.

We offer many techniques that will get writers of all ages motivated to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboards). We introduce creative ways for parents, teachers, and families who home school, to get their reluctant children to write.

Included in this website is information about writing with learning disabilities (such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and fine motor delays) that hold students back from reaching their highest writing potential, as well as publishing opportunities and advice for young ambitious fiction authors. This site is loaded with writing tips and lesson plans for educators and parents.
